Such majesty....So skilled were the artisans of our past. I wonder what kind of tree grew to become this stately column....by the hands of a man.

    In the Metropolitan Museum of Art......New York City, New York....July, 2007. I would like to have met the man who made this outstanind artwork. What interesting and beautiful tools he must have used. A true artisan of wood he was....And now...everything is sadly plastic.
